If you're happy and you know it...

"If you're happy and you know it, clap your hands.
If you're happy and you know it, clap your hands.
If you're happy and you know it,
And you really want to show it,
If you're happy and you know it, clap your hands."

Most of us,a lot of us know this song from preschool or kindergarden.  so, tell me. what makes you happy? to make it more fair, i'll tell you mine. i'll list them off for you. these are the things i held most dear and made me happy. i'll also list what their fates were.
  1. My pixie bob cat, bellatrixx.  she was one of the quirkiest little cats in the world, and my baby.
  2. my USB, because it held all my stories i had ever written, one i was working on getting published.
  3. and of course my writing/ drawing
  4. my sister,Yang, because she made me laugh and was fun to hang out with.
  5. my best friend Diablo, because he truly got me, and knew me better than i knew myself and was there for me and helped me to smile when i thought i would never smile again.
  6. my music. mostly alternative, but there's rock, elvis, bing crosby, and some other oldies.
  7. my room, my nest, where i could hide out in bad moods.
  8. Myfriends, because theymake me feel a little better without even trying, especially Kitty.

Now this is the fate of those things.
  1. the vets overdosed her whenwe went in for X-rays.
  2. stolen, been missing for months.
  3. i still write and sometimes draw.mostly write with encouragement ( pressure) from Kitty.
  4. she isnt as giggly and happy as she used to be. more sorrow in her life too.
  5. he won't even look at me anymore, let alone speak, and it hurts cuz i dont know why.
  6. i'll die before i turn my music down. you have to admit,my neighbors listen to some pretty awesome music, whether they want to or not.
  7. my parents invade it everyday.it no longer holds the same sort of sanctuary feeling anymore. but i still hide in it.
  8. I'm losing contact with some of the best ones. most moved away, but i still talk to them. the ones here either dont talk to me as much or changed to whether we dont have much in common. there are still a few i call best friends cuz they still stick around. and ihave afew good ones online. (fanfiction anddeviantart buddies.
So. this was supposed to be a blog about what makes me happy. but i don't really have that much anymore. i used to be happy at home, but now all we ever really do is argue, so there went that. i used to be happy at school, but now it's a drag, but not really except in one class. either way, i guess i'm just not a happy person that much anymore. oh well... as they say... " When one door of happiness closes, another one opens." well,  I think I got locked out. man....not again.

my other sites: PLEASE PRETTY PLEASE VISIT!!!!

ok, so, i have an account on a website called FanFiction.net. i currently have four stories on there, but a total of like, 23 reveiws at the most. TWENTY THREE REVIEWS. SERIOUSLY?!?!? DO YOU REALIZE HOW LONG AND HARD I WORK ON THOSE STORIES AND HOW MUCH THEY MEAN TO ME?!? YOU COULD AT  LEAST  HELP ME OUT A LITTLE BY LEAVING REVIEWS!!!!!!!!! sorry for ranting, but it had to be done. and i also have a DA account. Da is short for Devaint Art, a website where you can post you're artwork or stories or whatever. it's a really awesome website. i'm  content with the reveiws I get there, but i would love it if more people knew about it. i don't know.... it just REALLY irks me. so, i thought maybe if i put them  on here, some people might check it out. so what do you think? you wanna check them  out??? pretty please???? by the way, fanfic is free so you should sign up. DA is free too as long as you don't upgrade.

READ THE FOLLOWING:

Writers- all of them, from famous authors to subtle FF writers- ALL depend on the feedback from readers. Read this NOW!

Lack of reviews is the greatest killer of fan fic writers out there. We at the institute wish to let the public know of how they can pitch in to save our dying authors.

1) Drop a review every other chapter. It may not seem like much, but reviews are actually what many of us want to see. That, and hits. Hits do make us happy but we don't really know if people like our story or not.

2) Visit an author's profile page. Those kind of hits really make us happy. It's where we showcase our entourage of friends, favorites, polls, beta readers, and stories. Some of us even tidy up with set areas for upcoming story ideas and character bios.

3) What you call being "too lazy to review" is what we call "a flame to the pages" as the writers. That one minute or two that you felt "too lazy" to review is another minute of creeping discouragement that all writers feel as they begin to think...

"Why am I even here…?" "What's even the point of continuing?" "My skills must be terrible…no one cares for my story…" "I'll never be a good author...I quit."

These are only a few thoughts that go through every single author's head when we put out a chapter/story that we poured all our heart and soul within, and we sit there…and sit…and wait…and not a single person says even a word.
If you're not a writer, you have NO IDEA how much that hurts…

If you ARE a writer, then I'm sure you know just how great it feels when someone is kind enough to leave a heartwarming and encouraging review, and you read it, smiling while thinking…"Wow...I did it…"

So, why not give fellow writers the same luxury here?
WAY too many times I've seen amazing, epic, and utterly beautiful works of literary art fall to pieces before finally being abandoned due to the terrible discouragement that the lack of reviews can cause.

Sometimes, it is so severe that the very writer her/himself decides to quit, denying the world his skills of writing that I'm sure it would have deeply enjoyed.

So…
Just one minute, that's all it takes. Just a few gentle taps of the fingers on your keyboard, a few seconds or so of your time, and your words can SAVE a writer from quiting something they love.

Please. Do me a favor: Go find a story, ANY story, anywhere here on Fanfiction.net, and see if you can help it. If it has very little-to-no reviews at all, just check it out, and say whatever comes to mind.

And enjoy the thought in mind that you could have just SAVED that story, with just a few taps of your keyboard…

If you agree with what I have said then please copy and paste any part of this you wish onto your profile. Modify it in any way you see fit; there is no need to use my exact words. You make it say what you want it to say.

Wait till you're 21 (for school)

okay, so for school, I have to blog about this article we read. it's called "Smoking? Combat? wait till you're 21, young recruits say." I have to answer questions and everything, so, read if you want, or not. it's up to you.

Q1: Do you think it is inconsistent of new York city to propose that the legal age for buying cigarettes be 21, while New Yorkers can fight wars, vote, and drive at eighteen?

A: yes. I think it is very inconsistent of the city to do that. you can sign up to possibly die serving your country, you can get behind the wheel of a car and possibly die in an accident, and well, while voting can't necessarily kill you, the decisions of the person you voted for could seriously impact your life. and yet you can't buy cigarettes which could give you cancer, but you would still live longer than the other options? excuse me, since when did NYC get to decide how we are to live and die? I mean, yes, I agree with bumping up the age limit on buying cigs, but they should at least do the same for the others! it's not right, it's not fair. Raise the limit on the others and then things will be, well, not completely alright, (nothing is ever that), but they'll be close. Like it says in the text, "At eighteen, you're supposed to make bad decisions.", but " eighteen is too young to make decisions like that."  at eighteen, you're fresh out of high school, and you're not really ready to make a decision like that. smoking can kill you, and cars can kill you, and wars can kill you too. I don't even know if I'm getting my point across, but it said give you're opinion. it's almost like they're saying they want us to die painfully than slowly. it is inconsistent and wrong and they need to fix it by raising the age limit on all of them.

Q2: Do you think people under age eighteen are mature enough to make life or death decisions on their own? which of the activities mentioned do you think are life and death decisions? why?

A: well, quite frankly, no. Children, in most cases, can not make life or death decisions on their own, well, they shouldn't have to. and also, no one is mature enough to make a decision like that. no matter what age, in my opinion. no one should have to make a decision like that, but that's case with most people. to make a decision like that, you really have to think about your life, and the reason you might die. you have to accept the fact that you might die, that you might not come home. you have to accept it, or not choose that option at all. So no, people under eighteen can't make decisions like that for themselves, because, simply, they are too young.

Q3:What do you think should be the age or ages at which young people are allowed to do each of these things?

A: I think... 25. 25 is a good age, because the people have had time to live  little, and time to "mature", and time to think things over, and have more experience. they're not too old, but not too young.

Q4: what do you think about the argument made by proponents of the new law that because the "executive functioning" portion of the brain isn't fully developed until 21, some decisions should be put off until then?

A: I think that may be true, because by the, you've had more experience than you did fresh out of high school, and because we're still kids, even though the government says we're not. "They saw a dangerous world out there, and they wanted to be protected from it as long as hey could be".

Q5:Which of these rights are you most looking forward to having? why?

A: which of these rights? well, this may not come out right, but this is a "your opinion" question, so here goes nothing. I look forward to having the right to be able to wait. to wait to make a decision like that, if I had to. time to get things in order in my mind, accept things, make my decision. that is the "right", I am looking forward to.

well, that's t for today folks. you've heard my opinion, I hope it's what you were looking for. bye for now.

Picture Books (for school)

In every family, there is always at least one person that you just cannot stand. Every single family has at least one. Don't deny it either. For me, that person is the Gremlin, my nephew. there are many, many, many reasons I did not like that....child? (child is the kindest term i can use.) but that is not why I am blogging this. this is for school, about picture books and what they mean to us. so, the point is how I despised this child, and how three little kittens started to change that.

so, to explain, I love to collect the random-est old things. So one day I was in an antique shop, and my eyes fell across that little book. It was only a dollar, so, naturally, I bought it, and put it on my shelf never to be read for it was very old. so, one of the times that the gremlin came over, he got into my room, (after unlawfully sneaking into my room to annoy me
because he's not supposed to be in there!)I caught him in there, and was about to chase him out, when he held it up.

I froze. "Gremlin, put. the. book. DOWN." I said. "Read." he said. at the time, he was too young to read on his own. "No." "Read." "No." "RE-AD!!!!" "NO!" "READ READ READ READ READ READ!!!!" "FINE!!" so, I read to the gremlin.

"Three little kittens lost their mittens, and they began to cry. "O mother dear,
We very much fear that we have lost our mittens." " Lost your mittens! You naughty kittens. Then you shall have no pie Mee-ow, mee-ow, mee-ow. No, you shall have no pie Mee-ow, mee-ow, mee-ow." these first lines I read quite monotone-Ly, as I was bored and wanted my vintage book back. "Read better." so I had to reread the lines. "Three little kittens..." and so on. I only wanted to get my book back!

I finished with; "The three little kittens washed their mittens, and hung them out to dry. 'O mother dear, Do not you hear, that we have washed our mittens?' 'Washed your mittens! O, you're good kittens. But I smell a rat close by! Hush! hush! 'mee-ow, mee-ow. We smell a rat close by, Mee-ow, mee-ow, mee-ow." by the time I finished with these words, Gremlin was sleepy, and he looked up at me, his head resting on my shoulder. "AunieJilly?" (he says it all as one word) "Yes?" "You need to read better next time." "Okay." then he fell asleep. at the time, I was only trying o get my book back as quickly as possible. but, that story became his favorite, and now every time I see him, he'll always ask if I brought it, or if I can read it to him, even though he can read on his own, ( a newly acquired trick). he had me read it because, and I quote. " you has nice voice." me? the one with the witch's cackle? that just hit me right there. * pats spot over heart*

I mean, we still don't get along sometimes, and we'll be the two stereo-typical kids. "Mom! he's hitting me!" "Grandma! she's not sharing!" followed by arguing and possible pinching and hitting. but he always hugs me first when we meet, and although he has the mind of a teenage boy in a six year old body, (yes, I know)he and I always have this bond, which is strongest when I read to him. he is still a gremlin, but he is my nephew, and I love him, even though sometimes I can't stand him. ( plus I get a loyal minion!)

I have many picture books I love from my childhood, such as Laura's Star, The Most Thankful Thing, Wild About Books, The Unicorn and the Lake, Love You Forever, Stellaluna, and the Snow Princess, plus many giant books of Disney stories. But the three little kittens have had one of the greatest impacts on my familial life. Gremlin and I are closer than ever, thanks to Three Little Kittens!

  • Three Little Kittens
  • Laura's Star - Klaus Baugart
  • The Most Thankful Thing - Lisa McCourt
